Bored? Infected by Cabin Fever? Cold weather got you down?

Help is only a short read away. . .at Stanley Tubbs Memorial Library in Sallisaw.

In addition to books galore for a getaway weekend read, and many other programs, the Sallisaw library has planned the following for the month of January. For information on any of the library’s programs call 918-775-4481.

-Bedtime Story Time will be from 5 to 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 16 and 22. Ms. Sharon will read stories, lead music and teach crafts and fun for preschoolers and toddlers. Story Time is held in the library meeting room.

-Story Time will be held from 10:30 to 11 a.m. on Jan. 9, and Ms. Sharon will read stories, lead music and teach crafts and fun for preschoolers and toddlers. Story Time is held in the library meeting room.

-The Reader’s Club will meet from 10 to 11 a.m. on Jan. 10 in the library meeting room. Members will discuss the best seller “Elephants for Water,” by Sara Gruen. The novel has been made into a movie.

-The Teen Workshop will meet from 4 to 5 p.m. on Jan. 11 and on Jan. 18 in the library meeting room. Ms. Judy will teach teens and tweens about science, cultural exploration and crafts.

-Martin Luther King Jr. Day is Jan. 15 when the Sallisaw library and all branches of the Eastern Oklahoma District Library System will be closed.

-The Book Review Luncheon will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on Jan. 17 in the library meeting room. Clayton Lucas of Sallisaw will talk about his debut book “Iron Post Corner.” Call the library at 918-775-4481 to RSVP for the free lunch.

-The Sequoyah Book Club will meet from 4 to 4:45 p.m. on Jan. 22 in the meeting room. Ms. Sharon will discuss one of the books nominated for the Sequoyah Award.

These are just a few of the many activities and services available for free, and the simple application for a library card, at Stanley Tubbs Memorial Library in Sallisaw.
