Maggie Liberto

Rodney Jordan

Sequoyah County Sheriff Larry Lane reported Friday that two persons were arrested following the serving of a narcotics search warrant at a home north of Dwight Mission Road near Pin Hook Corner, northwest of Sallisaw.

Lane said those arrested were Maggie Liberto, 33, of Vian, and Rodney Jordan, 39, of Fort Smith. They were booked into the Sequoyah County Jail on charges of possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), methamphetamine, with intent to distribute, possession of CDS, marijuana, with intent to distribute, child endangerment, maintaining a residence where CDS is kept or sold, after former conviction of felony.

Jordan also had an outstanding felony warrant for probation or parole violation from Arkansas.

The officers found a small child in the residence in direct proximity to the alleged narcotics.

Lane said investigators and deputies found methamphetamine, marijuana and schedule narcotics in the home, along with packaging materials, digital scales and other items of paraphernalia that are consistent with the use and distribution of illegal drugs.

Lane said, “Our sheriffs’ investigators along with the DTF investigators are working together and gathering information every day. We will continue to relentlessly pursue and bust drug dealers. We’ve warned them from day one, either clean up your lives and stop selling drugs or move out of our county, or they’ll go to jail.”

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the District 27 Drug Task Force.
