OHP Finds Two Pounds of Marijuana in Man’s Vehicle

An Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper arrested a driver on Interstate 40 on Tuesday. The driver was transporting about two pounds of marijuana, it was reported.

Brandon E. Doss, 36, of Fayetteville was stopped on I40 for driving a reported 86 miles per hour in a 70 miles per hour zone. When the OHP trooper stopped Doss, who was driving east in a silver Toyota Avalon, the trooper said he detected the aroma of marijuana coming from the vehicle. He then asked Doss if he had marijuana in the vehicle, and Doss said he had “about two pounds” in the back seat.

Doss was arrested and booked into the county jail in Sallisaw.

On Wednesday he was charged in Sequoyah County District Court, Sallisaw, with unlawful possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute, a felony, and the misdemeanor charges of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and having no valid driver’s license.

His next court appearance is scheduled for Dec. 20 on Associate District Judge Kyle Waters Disposition Docket.
