Sallisaw Fall Cleanup Begins Monday


The city of Sallisaw reminds residents that the annual fall cleanup begins on Monday.

Items left for pick up must be divided into separate piles for brush, junk, and metal. Items must not be stacked near water meters, gas meters, or fire hydrants.

City crews will only go through each neighborhood once. Once they pass a street, crews will not return and residents will be responsible for disposal.

The service is for residential customers only. Any debris left from contractors must be disposed of by the contractor. The city will not pick up any debris from construction or land clearing of any type.

Do not allow persons to bring material to a residence from outside the city or other locations. This service is for city residents only. If material is suspected of coming from another location, the city will not pick it up and resident will be responsible for the disposal.

All items must be curbside by 7 a.m. on the start date of the cleanup.

Citizens may start placing items curbside one week prior to cleanup start date.

Items must be stacked neatly curbside. Do not stack items near gas meters or fire hydrants.

Metal must be separated from other material. 

The City will not pick up: 

-Any debris, refuse, or other waste from contractors; contractors must dispose of these things themselves

-Any debris or yard waste from land clearing of any type

-Used batteries, used tires, oil, paint or other hazardous materials, as per ODEQ regulations.
