Gore Still Without Power After Weekend Storm

According to OG&E officials 360 homes and businesses in the Gore area are still without power after a strong storm blew through the area Saturday morning.

The storm reportedly caused damage throughout the area blowing down trees and damaging several homes and barns. Although the storm contained high winds and torrential rain no tornado activity was reported.

A portion of US-64/SH-100 between Gore and Webbers Falls remains closed at this time due to downed power lines over the highway near the Arkansas River bridge. Traffic is being detoured on I-40 and SH-10. According to Billy Mack White. Gore Police Chief, it is hoped that the road will be opened some time on Monday.

At one point, OG&E reported that 8,100 customers in the area were without power.
