Muldrow Man Stabbed

A Muldrow man, whose name was not released by Fort Smith police, was found stabbed “a least seven times” and in need of surgery on Thursday evening.

Fort Smith police reported a 49-year-old Fort Smith woman and her son were arrested in connection with the stabbing. Tammy Jo Meadows was arrested on a charge of felony first-degree battery and her son, Travis Slade Moon II, 24, was arrested for felony aggravated assault and felony first-degree battery. Meadows also faces a theft by receiving charge, police reported.

Police reported that an officer was called to Sparks Regional Medical Center at about 9:50 p.m. Thursday where a doctor reported the Muldrow victim had been stabbed “at least seven times.”

Witnesses told police they and the victim went to Sandalwood Apartments on Fresno Street in Fort Smith to get $50 from Moon. They said Moon stole the money from one of the witnesses. They confronted Moon and Meadows in a parking lot east of the apartments where Meadows began hitting the victim. Moon then pulled a “butcher-type knife” and started stabbing the victim. The victim did not know the two suspects, the witnesses told police.
