Scooter Crash Sends Vian Man to Hospital

A 63-year-old Vian man was hospitalized in Tulsa Saturday after he crashed a scooter.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) reported Richard Fieldgrove was driving a 2015 Taoi scooter east on River Road, about four miles north and four miles west of Vian, when he ran off the road to the right and the scooter fell onto the right side and slid about 32 feet before coming to a stop.

The crash occurred at about 6:52 p.m. Saturday.

Fieldgrove was transported by Pafford EMS to Sequoyah Memorial Hospital in Sallisaw then to St. Francis Medical Center in Tulsa where he was admitted in stable condition with a head injury.

The OHP trooper investigating the crash reported the cause of the crash was alcohol.
