Sallisaw firefighters will be holding their Fill the boot Campaign today (August 7) and also on August 14 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).
Sallisaw Fire Chief Anthony Armstrong said firefighters will be asking for donations from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 5 to 8 p.m. on August 14 at the corner of Ruth Streets and Kerr Boulevard in Sallisaw.
The Fill the Boot campaign funds MDA's research efforts to eradicate 40 neuromuscular diseases. The contributions of the firefighters also go towards MDA's summer camps for children, professional and public health education and other programs.
