Sallisaw police are regularly patrolling the new Sallisaw Sports Complex, which is under construction on East Cherokee in Sallisaw, and will detain anyone found to be there without approval, Sallisaw Police Chief Terry Franklin said Monday. Franklin said some minor vandalism was found at the new sports complex Friday morning, and police suspect kids may have been the vandals. He said bike tracks were found at the site. Franklin said, "It was minor damage, but they need to know that we are patrolling the site, and anyone who gets caught will be detained."
