A Gore man is expected to go to trial this summer for numerous first-degree rape and lewd molestation charges. Troy L. Sands, 33, is charged with the rape and molestation of two sisters, who were ages six and seven at the time, between 2008 and 2010. The charges were filed in Sequoyah County District Court in Sallisaw on June 12, and Sands was arrested the same day. He was arrested after the girls' mother found out about the allegations, and reported them to the Muldrow police. Sands entered a not guilty plea on Oct. 4, and waived his right to a speedy trial. His next court date is July 30 when a district court judge will determine if the case is ready to go to trial.
