CASC Gets Grant to Assist Single Parents

Carl Albert State College (CASC) in Poteau and Sallisaw recently received a Women's Foundation of Oklahoma (WFO) Funds Campus Grant. This grant is intended to assist with programs for single parents as they work toward attaining degrees. Jay Falkner, CASC Associate Vice President for Enrollment Managment, explained, "Jessica Lloyd, Carl Perkins Counselor/Coordinator at Carl Albert, wrote this grant application for the college, and we are pleased to receive funding to help us better serve our single parent students." Falkner continued, "We are always looking for ways to help students deal with the challenge of balancing work and family and school. When we find ways to offer extra help, we feel we can make a difference."

The WFO Endowment is managed by Communities Foundation of Oklahoma. For more information on both, visit www.wfok.org and www.cfok.org.
