Sallisaw Man Killed Saturday

A Sallisaw man was killed Saturday when his motorcycle crashed on Interstate 40 about 125 miles east of Fort Smith. James A. Harwell, 49, was pronounced dead at Conway Regional Medical Center in Conway at about 12:12 p.m. Saturday, according to the Arkansas State Police. Police reported Harwell was riding a 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle east on the interstate when, at about 9 a.m., he veered off the road, struck cable guards and was thrown from the motorcycle. His funeral is under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw and will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Fort Smith National Cemetery.
