Sequoyah County Sheriff Ron Lockhart announced Tuesday that a county jail detention officer resigned.
Lockhart said his department conducted an internal investigation in reference to the arrest of jailer Amy Beth Minor. Minor was arrested for assault and battery on Saturday by Sallisaw police. The victim said Minor hit her on the head with a half-gallon whiskey bottle. Minor told police she hit the victim in self defense.
